| In late 1997 God told Pat she would be in a band. God has put together a family of his choosing. Ed and Pat Ashcraft are married to each other. Clay is Pat's brother and Ed's brother-in-law. David is Ed, Pat, and Clay's brother-in-law. He was married to Wanda, Pat and Clay's sister, who passed away in 1996. Ed and David have known each other since they were teenagers in Sherwood and North Little Rock, Ar. Taylor and Pat graduated from Lonoke High School the same year. It also turns out that Taylor and the former pastor of Roberson Baptist (Lenny Brewer) are cousins. Sandra, Taylor's wife does our sound. She sorta got drafted when Clay started singing. Ron knows everyone Ed and David know. Ron and David grew up a few blocks from each other but never met. Ron grew up with one of our friends, C.B. Wilson. We were looking for a drummer and put a notice up at Jacksonville Guitar. Ron called us, came to a practice and we felt like we had been together forever. Ron's wife name is Wanda, so we have a Wanda in the family again. Arlon was with the group before and God ask Him to leave to do other things. When Ron came in, he said that he knew a really good harp player if we were interested. God graciously sent Arlon back to us. It's a small world. When you look back, you can see God's hand moving this and that to make things work. The band feels like one big family. Some of us are family by blood, but we are all God's children. God is in charge of His Word in Song. We've had other potential members, but He has changed work schedules over-night to make it impossible for them to be a part of us. In one case, actually moved the person out of state, unexpectedly overnight. We trust God to use our talent for His purpose. God wove our lives in and around each other until He was ready to put us together. We are a family band, and our Father really knows best. Our music has gradually worked back to the music of our generation. (rhythm & blues, southern rock, and 50's,60's, 70's rock and roll influence.) We call it dance music for God but only our age can dance to it. The words are Bible stories or personal testimonies. None of us are preachers, just God's children saved by Grace. If you remember the words to our songs chances are you have memorized a part of the Bible. God loves each and every one of us, what better way for Him to speak to your soul, but through music. We have played at numerous churches, benefits, fundraisers, prisons, biker rallies and special events. We've played at the Sturgis Bike Rally in Sturgis, South Dakota since 2005 and had the opportunity to play again this year. |
